The Samplestore recently sent me Mentholatum's Mojitate Kajitsu and Deep Moist Lipbalms for testing and review. Naturally, I was very keen to try them out, because I'm a self-confessed lipbalm "addict". I like having the lush, smooth feeling of moisturised lips that come from putting on lipbalm regularly.

Mentholatum is the number one best selling lipbalm brand in Japan and the Mogitate Kajitsu lipbalm series was launched in Singapore recently. I received 3 flavours of Mentholatum's Mojitate Kajitsu Lipbalms and 2 flavours of Deep Moist Lipbalms. And an offer to let my readers know about a contest (keep reading!)

"Mojitate" means "Fresh" and "Kajitsu" means "Fruits" in Japanese. The "juicy" Mojitate Kajitsu lipbalms comes in 5 different fruit mixes: Strawberry, Grape & Berry, Orange & Mango, White Peach and Lemon and Lime. Mojitate Kajitsu lipbalms are made with fresh fruit juice and also contains Honey, which heals and renews the lips; Squalene that is easily absorbed and helps reduce wrinkles; Grape Seed Oil that repairs the skin; and Vitamin A and E, antioxidants that retard lip aging and give lips a healthy shine.

Deep Moist Lipbalms contain Hyaluronic Acid, that holds up to 1000 times its weight in water; Shea Butter which heals the skin[ and Jojoba Oil that provides hydration. All are highly moisturising with soft-melt-in-the-skin feeling. The oval shape of the lipbalm also fits the corner of mouth well. Due to its wide dimension, there is ease in application.

REVIEW
Pros
  • Leaves lips soft and smooth
  • Very moist
  • Light and non-sticky
  • Clear/Transparent so can be used prior to lipstick or lipgloss without altering the colours
  • Pleasant and light fragrance
  • Loaded with super ingredients like Honey, Squaline, Grape Seed Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil
  • Cute and pretty packaging (I especially like the pink Strawberry!)
  • Drug-store price
  • Easy access at all Watsons stores
Cons
  • I'm not overly fond of the tingly menthol sensation, it's even in the Mojitate Kajitsu versions
  • Nothing else!
Verdict
Y Y Y /5

It's a slighty more-than-basic lipbalm with quality ingredients, the added touch of fun and cute packaging plus pleasant taste and smell, what's not to like? :D
